  • Give them away to guests. Many guests will ask about taking a centerpiece home. This is a great way to share the lasting fun of your wedding day with them.
  • Preserve them. Whether you dry them, press them, or have them professional preserved, your wedding flowers can be a lasting memento of your wedding day.
  • Donate them. Find a local nursing home or hospital and arrange to donate them. It’s a great way to spread the joy of your wedding day while doing something great for the community.

Whatever you do with your wedding flowers, making sure they’re top quality blooms can make them last longer and give you the perfect look on your wedding day. To find out more about wedding flowers in Milwaukee, or to discuss the flowers for your West Allis wedding, give us a call today!

Avril Lavigne’s Black Bouquet

When musicians Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger got married earlier this month, they chose a Gothic theme for their big day. The couple were married in a medieval French castle, and had an all-black dress code.

One of the really stunning parts of their wedding day has to be Avril’s bouquet. Made up of black roses, the large bouquet shows just how flexible flowers can be.

There’s almost no limit when it comes to flower colors. If you have a theme that requires a specific color for your bouquet, it’s entirely possible, though it might take extra time or money to source.

A black bouquet is certainly a bold style, but one that was absolutely required for Avril and Chad’s all-black Gothic theme. The bouquet itself became a central part of Avril’s overall wedding look, and she is proudly carrying it in almost all of the couple’s photos.

Choosing Centerpieces For Your Wedding

When it comes to your wedding day, centerpieces are one of the most important ways to display gorgeous flowers. Along with the bridal bouquet, they’re the floral arrangements that your guests will most look forward to seeing, and that will most define the style of your wedding.

Of course, there are many different styles of centerpieces. Depending on your wedding’s style or theme, you might want to opt for something big or small, bright or subdued.

There are also multiple ways of displaying floral centerpieces. The most common way, of course, is a traditional vase. You can add extra interest to your centerpieces with a colored glass vase, which will nicely set off the flowers you have chosen.

A tall vase can be a dramatic choice, and can allow your guests to easily see each other across the table. You can also opt for a bowl style presentation, where the flowers are kept lower. This can be a great choice if you want to include foliage.

Whatever presentation you choose, great centerpieces begin with a great florist. If you’re looking for the perfect Milwaukee florist for your wedding, get in touch with us today!

How to Use White Wedding Flowers

With so many colorful blooms available, there’s something particularly powerful about choosing all white flowers for your wedding day. It gives a beautiful look to your bouquet and venue to plenty of pure white flowers, and is unmistakably bridal.

White flowers are perfect with a white dress, but can also nicely set off any ivory, off-white, or colored wedding gown. When we saw the photos from last week’s wedding of Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul, we were struck by the gorgeous choice of white gown and white flowers his new wife, activist Lauren Parsekian had made.

When you choose to go with any single color for your flowers, the quality of blooms is very important. You’ll want flowers that hold the color perfectly, and that look great in their own right. A single color bouquet can be all one type of flower, or it can be a mix of several types.

If you do opt for several flowers, an expert florist will be able to direct you towards blooms that work well together and that have the same tone of your chosen color. (An all-white bouquet can be completely thrown off by a single cream-toned flower in the middle!)

Should Your Bouquet Have More Than Flowers?

A bridal bouquet can be beautiful in many different ways, and that can mean including some non-floral elements. This is a wonderful way to add creative touches to your bouquets, and tie the bouquet into your theme.

One popular choice is to include sparkly elements, such as crystals. This gives a bit of extra visual interest to your bouquet. When the light hits your bouquet, crystals or glitter touches can make it seem to light up from within.

You can also include decorative elements like butterflies. These can give a natural effect as you walk down the aisle. They can also be included in centerpieces for a lovely addition to your tables.

Of course, many bouquets combine many different elements to come up with a gorgeous design. Every bride, and every wedding, is unique and the bouquets should be, too.
